In addition to annual awards program, the Zero Harm program strives to provide technical assistance and support to our member hospitals. For the past two year, the Zero Harm program has hosted educational webinars focusing on award related topics including surgical site infection prevention, suicide prevention, and high reliability. This year, we are expanding the webinar series to include both Zero Harm sponsored webinars and access to live and pre-recorded webinars from a variety of Zero Harm related organizations and topics.
For January, our webinar topic is “Strategies to Reduce Medical Errors: A Fireside Chat,” presented by Patient Safety & Quality Healthcare (PSQH). In this 60-minute fireside chat, Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group, will discuss the strategies that need to be implemented to help improve patient safety and reduce errors such as “never events.” This includes the recommendations made by The Working Group on Patient Safety, which was established by the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, and Leapfrog’s recommendations on how to reduce diagnostic errors.
